Animal Care Hospital in Douglas, Cork is a 100% Small animal hospital seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in January 2024.

Douglas is a vibrant and affluent suburb of Cork city with easy access to both the exciting city life of Cork City and the relaxing countryside of County Cork. Our hospital is complete with all the bells and whistles including our fully equipped in-house laboratory with our state-of-the-art Idexx Biochemistry and Haematology blood analyzers. We also have in-house Digital and Dental radiography services., Multimodal monitors, Ultrasound and more!

We are proud to be the first practice in Ireland to have Fear-Free qualified staff and therefore all our hospital policies are focused on gentle handling of our patients. Our friendly and dynamic team is comprised of 4 Veterinary Surgeons (2 full time and 2 part time), 4 Veterinary Nurses and 3 support staff. We all strive to provide excellent patient care and have a loyal client base which we value highly. We ensure to work up our cases to a very high standard. We have staff certification in Internal Medicine and some of our team are working towards further qualification in surgery, acupuncture, and behaviour.

The Role
This is a full time, permanent position.

Duties and responsibilities in this position are typical of first opinion practice including consultations, surgical and medical rotations, routine preventative care and emergencies.We are looking for a VCI registered Veterinary Surgeon with excellent communication skills, who has high standards of client and patient care as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The working hours are 40 hours per week. There will be one Saturday in every four. This may change with business needs.

There is no OOH.

Salary for this role is up to €60k depending on experience

Applicant Requirements
We are seeking an experienced, VCI registered Veterinary Surgeon eligible to work in Ireland.
The suitable candidate will need to be experienced in Small Animal practice and comfortable with sole charge if needed.
This position is not suitable for a new graduate.
