Ringaskiddy API site in Cork plays a critically strategic role within Pfizer, it is the global site for new small molecule API products through scale up and launch, as well as manufacture of large volume patented and off-patent medicines. Colleagues on the site use state of the art equipment and leading-edge technology, as well as work collaboratively with Research and Development to provide the highest quality innovative products to the market.
About the Role:
A permanent opportunity has arisen on the Ringaskiddy API site for a Safety and Quality Continuous Improvement Plant Engineer. Your role is to provide continuous improvement operation support and leadership to designated Operational area(s) and team(s).
You will be responsible for the following key areas:-
  • Responsible for items associated with delivering Safety & Quality excellence in plant operations
  • Trending of issues, scoping & delivery of Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and leading Safety & Quality investigations where applicable
  • Leading behavioural change programs and completing behavioural based quality and safety audits
  • Identifying through colleague engagement appropriate plant improvements to address gaps in Safety or Quality and assisting implementing through local budgeting or capital projects
  • Helping ensure Plant audit readiness, in relation to Safety and Quality
  • Lead the implementation of Data Integrity improvement projects
  • Raising capital requests & delivery of CI projects to attain manufacturing supply excellence
  • Leading Plant Safety Meetings and taking ownership of safety & quality action closure
  • Communication of plant improvement and change through plant meetings and appropriate metrics
  • Involvement in capital projects to ensure that the scope, layout and operating philosophy is consistent with that of the area
  • Leading of Right First Time Method 1/ 6 Sigma investigations
  • Action closure from deviations, Right First Time/ lean projects
  • Projects to improve Daily Management Systems & adherence to Process Standard Work Plans.
  • Use of RFT & lean tools to minimise variation and eliminate waste associated with OSP operation
  • Assisting Plant Leader, Changeover Team Lead and CI Engineer with day-to-day operation of the plant with focus on achieving Safety and Quality excellence
  • Liaising with other Safety & Quality Continuous Improvement Engineers on site to ensure consistency of approach, collaboration and engagement and transfer of improvement ideas and projects
About You

  • A minimum of 2+ years’ industry (Pharma / Biopharma /MedTech./Food) experience in a comparable role preferred.
