Be Framed is a busy art gallery and framing business located less than 20 minutes from Cork city centre. All workers are passionate about art and energised by providing an exceptional customer experience and making sales. It is a warm and welcoming place to work and workers are meticulous and passionate about what they do. As it is growing, we would like to take on a Picture Framer with sales responsibilities.
The Position
We are currently looking for an experienced, professional and passionate picture framing assistant to join our team. Ideally at least two years experience is required but not essential as training will be provided. The primary focus of the role will be picture framing, mount cutting, glass cutting and frame assembly. Candidates will also be required to proactively market to prospective customers, provide exceptional customer service and make sales in the store. They must have a strong interest in art.
Ideal candidates will be confident, personable and hard-working. They must be self-motivated and energised by meeting customers and selling products/services to them. Candidates must be driven, willing and eager to learn.
Primary Duties
- Frame assembly
- Mount cutting
- Glass cutting and cleaning
- Cut and join mouldings
- Be professional, friendly and knowledgeable with customers
- Drive sales and meet sales targets
- Provide an exceptional customer service
- Ensure the gallery is maintained to the highest of standards
- Continually learn and develop your knowledge and skills
- Work confidently with computers including Microsoft Office.
Requirements
- Ideally at least 2 years experience of framing pictures and handling pieces of art-work
- Good eye for art and an ability to pick the frame to suit the piece
- Experience with a computerised mount cutter is desirable and a desire to learn is essential
- Confident and energised by meeting people and making sales
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills – must be highly amicable and personable with customers and colleagues
- Proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office
- Capable of working on your own and as part of a team
- Enthusiastic and willing to learn new skills
- Acute attention to detail and pride in your work
- Guild Commended Framer standard would be highly advantageous, yet not essential given your experience
Details:
- Working Hours: Tuesday to Friday 9:30 to 17:30, and Saturday 9:30 to 16:00
Job Type: Full-time
