Applications are invited for the above 9-month duration fixed term full-time post in the UCC Student Health Department. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic experienced nurse to manage the response to COVID-19 in UCC during academic year 2022-23.
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing support and advice to UCC students and staff who declare that they have symptoms suggestive of respiratory illnesses suggestive of COVID-19 or others such as Influenzas. The candidate will be responsible for initial responses to persons declaring possible COVID-19 via any of UCC’s COVID-19 mobile apps. See https://www.ucc.ie/en/studenthealth/covid-apps/ Other responsibilities include supporting the role out of on-site point of care testing for respiratory infection and distribution of appropriate PPE such as face masks, and other COVID-19 preventative measures as they become available.
Consideration will be given to offer the role to outstanding candidates who may be unable to meet the full 10-session commitment per week. As well as having experience in acute or general practice nursing, the appointee will be expected to have had extensive experience of supporting the response to COVID-19 in a community setting.

Appointment may be made on the HSE Clinical Nurse Manager I Salary Scale: €47,389 – €55,808
Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
