The role

The suitable candidate will be required to have :

  • Experience in the design and layout of farm building and design for the animal flow required.
  • Experience creating manufacturing drawings and be able to communicate job requirements clearly and concisely.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specify components and ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Research and develop ideas for new products. Prototype through to test.
  • Communicating with Marketing and Sales.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.


  • Knowledge of the principles of design, sketching, CAD, industrial materials and processes, manufacturing methods, and engineering
  • Creativity and technical knowledge are essential.
  • Strong communication skills – visual, verbal, and written.
  • Ability to work with Autocad 2 &3D
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
  • Strong knowledge of the Agriculture sector.
  • Have proficient IT capability
  • Logically and technically minded with excellent organisational and personal management skills.
  • Knowledge of materials and ability to cost projects as required. Incorporating the many disciplines in Mechanical Engineering. – incl Livestock handling, feeding and automated systems Animal welfare science, and safety
  • Full clean driving license.
