We are currently recruiting for a full time Kitchen Porter/Catering Assistant in ourBrookfield Care Centre.As part of the Catering Team you will be trained to carry out duties in our Hosting & Kitchen Department.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the dining rooms for all meals to the high company standards.
  • Prepare beverage trolleys and trays, make and serve beverages to residents and visitors.
  • Prepare trays for meals to be served to the residents’ rooms.
  • Collect, wash and replenish water jugs and deliver to residents’ rooms.
  • At the end of each meal in the dining rooms clear and re-set tables promptly for the next meal and ensure that the dining room is left clean, tidy and attractively presented
  • At the end of the shift, put away all supplies and ensure that stock and materials are secure at all times.
  • Obtain menus from chef and assist the residents in making their choice for meals.
  • Ensure that statutory and company requirements in terms of Food Safety, Health & Safety and HACCP are upheld at all times.
  • Clean up Ground Floor and main Kitchen
  • Dish and pot washing in the main kitchen
  • Serving any events/meetings as required
  • Upkeep of staff canteens
  • Assisting on all floors with lunch & tea
  • Ground floor pantries assistance as needed
  • Ensuring the dishwasher and surrounding area is clean and used efficiency
  • Adherence to the safe storage and use of all food and cleaning products
  • Compliance with Haccp guidelines as directed by the Head Chef ensuring all work practices are in line with regulations
  • Meeting agreed time lines in ensuring all crockery is washed and available on time for meal times.
  • Ensure all the equipment is cleaned to a high standard as directed
  • Ensuring waste is to a minimum
  • Rotate where necessary to meet the catering demands of the role as directed
  • Assisting chefs with any additional tasks
