Job Title:

Main Purpose of Job:

To safely pack products, fulfil orders and ship products. To also ensure the building, facility and grounds are maintained to a high standard at all times.

Responsible for:

Working as part of a team of production staff.

Main Tasks of Job:

  • Report to work in a clean, timely and presentable manner.
  • Package products for sale using a variety of methods (flow-wrap, box, labelling, etc).
  • Package products securely for shipment so they don’t get damaged in transit.
  • Co-ordinate shipments and ensure parcels/pallets are labelled correctly.
  • Check quality and freshness on all products packed during shift.
  • Ensure all areas are routinely cleaned efficiently in line with BRC requirements for site and strict adherence to BRC to the required standards.
  • Follow guidelines and instructions for safe use of cleaning products.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects as advised.
  • Maintain accurate cleaning, packing, shipment, quality and food safety records.
  • Assess equipment before use and report any maintenance needs to Production Manager.
  • Report any product, package or machine deficiencies to the Production Supervisor or Quality Manager
  • Support other relevant personnel to ensure that the production line runs smoothly, safely and efficiently, resulting in the output of products which are of the highest quality, in line with company guidelines
  • Comply at all times with SOPs and Safety and Quality procedures in your area.
  • Understand HACCP and adhere to all HACCP and food safety standards consistently
  • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures and report any concerns to Management.
  • Report any accidents or near misses to Production Manager.
  • Attend relevant training and implement learnings on site or as required.
  • Reduce and maintain wastage, both food wastage and package wastage.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
